What is this?

I wanted to have a place to chronicle my journey to New Orleans this year.  It's hard to explain to people what the process is like and what we'll be doing there, but if you're interested you can find that info here.

My church, Crossroads, has been heading to New Orleans since 2008.  We do several different projects.  We always have a big group doing Habitat for Humanity, then another who does a sort of vacation bible school. (We call it loving on kids)  There is also a photo team that works to provide families with free portraits to replace photo collections they lost in the hurricane and floods.  Some have just never had an opportunity to have a nice family photo or portrait of themselves.

I did Habitat for Humanity in 2009.This year I'm going to be on the photo team.  I wanted to have the chance to interact more with people there, hear their stories, and share with them.

I'm really excited.  We are each raising $850 for our trip.  That includes a very long bus ride down (16 hours?), our hotel stay for a week, most of our meals, shirts, donations to our partners there, and a few other things.

That's it in a nutshell.  Please check out the site.  My mini blog is there, info on New Orleans (NOLA), videos from past trips, and info on our awesome partners.
